Biography:  1937 Born in Hangzhou, Yongkang county, Zhejiang province. 1963 Graduated from the Chinese Painting Department of the Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts. 1986 Invited by the West Berlin Arts Academy to lecture. 1987 Discussed in Joan Lebold Cohen's book, The New Chinese Painting 1949-1986. Published by Harry N, Abrams, New York. Chen's painting "Pink Lotus" used as book's cover. 1989 Awarded the sliver medal at the Seventh National Exhibition of Fine Arts. 1995 Attend the "8th International Academic Conference" in Paris. Invited to participate in the Exhibition and activities in Hanbur, "China and German Culture Exchange Month". 1997 Visited America as a member of the educational-exchange group organized by the Fine Arts College of Shanghai University at the end of september. 1998 Went to Canada as a member of a ten-artist group organized by Shanghai Jian Guo Public Welfare and Charity Foundation from May 28 to June 13. 1999 Invited to attend "the Ceramics Festival" in Holland, Amsterdam. And visited France, Belgium, Italy, Greece. Solo Exhibitions: 1988, exhibition in New York at 57 International Gallery. 1989, Individual exhibition in Pulm Blossoms Gallery in Hongkong. 1990, Individual exhibition in HuangGuan Arts Centre in Taibei. 1991, "Transformation--Chen JiaLing Art Exhibition" is presented by Art Venture in the National Musuem of Singapore. 1992, Chen Art Exhibition is presented by Plum Blossoms and exhibited in Hongkong and Singapore. 1993, Individual exhibition in Taiwan Pan Long Art Gallery. Attend the "93 South Korea Art Gallery Festival".
