Artist:  Xia JunNa
Biography:  1971, born in Inner Mongolia. 1987, went to the High School Attached to the Central Academy of Fine Arts, Beijing. 1991, graduated from the High School Attached to the Central Academy of Fine Arts, Beijing with Excellent Graduation Works Award. Then went to No. 4 Studio of the Oils Department, the Central Academy of Fine Arts, Beijing, got numerous Excellent Works Award. 1995, graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts, Beijing, the Graduation Works got the Japanese Songgang Family Scholarship.

Collective Exhibitions:

1995, Hiroshima Art Festival Commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the Success of World Anti-Fascism War, Japan. Beijing International Art Fair. "Autumn" -- one of her works won the Silver Prize in the 3rd Chinese Oil Paintings Exhibition. 1996, Biennial Exhibition of Fine Arts, Shanghai. 1997, Chinese Art Great Exhibition(Shanghai). Sketch Art Exhibition, won Excellence Award (Beijing). Chinese Youth Oils Exhibition (Beijing). 1998, Art Exhibition, won Collector's Award (Beijing). 1999, the generation born around 1970's (Beijing). 2000, (Beijing); 20th Century Chinese Oils Exhibition (Beijing). Her works have been collected by the Central Academy of Fine Arts, Beijing, Shanghai Art Museum and individual collectors home and abroad.

Statement:  The works of Xia JunNa well represents herself, permeated with youthfulness and romance, enthusiasm and sincerity; the brush of painting is filled with the love toward life, and the passion to people and to nature. She possesses unbelievable strong ability to the paintings that she is able to make a painting three to four meters big in a quite artistic talented way with several brushes. The perfect mingle of partial abstracts and expressionism and the realism on the whole is always the theme of her works, as well as the key element to the unique charm of her works. As for her works themselves, she stresses a lot on the expression of the painting language and the delivery of passions by means of brushes and material. One significant feature of her works is the maintenance of the purity of the painting, as there is no social critics, no interference of different views.
